Context
Zelvra explores how to warn travellers when luggage is left behind or taken away, particularly on trains. One module stays with the user, the other with the object. The engagement focused on turning Bluetooth distance estimates into a demonstrator for observing separation, movement and alert scenarios.
My contribution
- Build the two-module architecture and develop Bluetooth Channel Sounding firmware, integrating motion sensing and radio-link quality monitoring.
- Compare distance estimates using instrumented captures, then work on calibration and filtering. A stable reading can still be biased: smoothing a measurement does not make it accurate.
- Develop warning and alert logic that accounts for data freshness and connection interruptions. Build a dashboard to inspect states, record measurements and compare settings.
- Coordinate integration with industrial designer Hugo de Thiersant: component placement, antennas, connector access and iterations of the 3D-printed enclosure.
The delivered demonstrator
A two-module demonstrator, firmware, a demonstration interface and capture tools. Together, they allow use scenarios to be explored, system decisions to be inspected and further testing to be prepared.
The engagement covered the demonstrator. A dedicated PCB, miniaturisation, regulatory qualification and pilot production belong to a later stage.
